About
Santiago Navarro was born in La Paz, a town at the foot of the mountains of Córdoba, Argentina. He studied Cinematography at the National University of Córdoba, while also studying Photography at the Center for Photographic Studies.

His childhood memories of his grandparents' farm left an imprint that can be seen in his work. He grew up in an environment teeming with wildlife and in a family that appreciated and defended natural balance.
During this stage of his life, he contemplated natural phenomena, including the dramatic devastation of forest fires. These fires captured his attention, impacting his understanding of the resilience of the resurgent environment. At a very young age, he attempted to document nature devastated by fire, taking a camera and rolls of film, taking a large number of photographs. This moment in his youth marked a turning point in his thinking when he realised that the images he obtained neither reflected or captured the emotions that the desolation and environmental change had stirred in him. It was a revelatory moment that marked his beginnings as a photographer: "It wasn't enough to press a button; there was something that had to be learned and discovered. To narrate is more than to duplicate.

After completing his studies, he devoted himself to traveling and photographing nature in Argentina, capturing the magnificent landscapes of the Patagonian coast and ancient mountain ranges like Las Comechingones, exploring the facets of the still image and its narrative. He finally said goodbye to his country to travel to New Zealand and later to Australia. He currently resides in Tasmania.
This entire life journey required enormous financial and emotional effort, which cannot be ignored in the life story of an Argentine, given the complex conditions of his country.
Thus began the dream of a young photographer, with the goal of capturing his vision of the world in his final work.
